Reality check

No mom I don't want to go to school tomorrow!

Psh! As if. Remember when school was dreadful and all you wanted to do was grow up? Well, reality check...grown up life is here. Replace school with work and nothing changes.

We were married 9/30/12 and are officially back from our small dreamland. Reality is setting in, I am starting to believe that this ring on my finger isn't going away (not that I want it to, like, ever) and we have to adjust pretty fast.

That is how we do things though, fast. Engaged to married within four months and honeymoon to work within hours. We just got back and already have to get to the "nitty-gritty." But the bills are calling our name and the house needs to be cleaned. That is how grown-up land works.

To be completely honest, I may whine for now but I am completely A-O.K with getting a paycheck again. As fun as Asheville, NC was, there truly is no place like home. Dream land is only fun if you are Kim Kardashian.

So how is married life so far?
  • Well we both still haven't found the right way to say "husband" or "wife."
  • Signing my new last name isn't official yet, but I am sure I will struggle with not wanting to spell out my maiden name. Oh yeah! That's what that is called. I have a maiden name now.
  •  We now have to go around proving to people that I am a Nystrom and not a Bocharski anymore.
  • Married kisses are way better than boyfriend/girlfriend kisses.
  •  The cleaning fairy doesn't exist apparently because our house is a wreck with wedding throw-up. No one said there would be that left over!
  • Snuggles are still cozy and feel like warm (Someone with understand that adjective)
  • Seeing my husband with jewelry is weird. I was use to a naked finger and now there is love attached to it.
  • I have a SISTER!
  • Josh has a niece!
  • We have in-laws (amazing ones at that.)
  • Married life so far...awesome.

I wish you all could just see the stuff left behind. The cute thing though, is that when we came home, we were able to read what people signed on our picture frame. I almost cried. Josh probably did too. No amount of pictures can give us the feeling the memories do. Memorable night only scratches the surface.

No, reality hasn't quite hit as hard as it should. Other than having to clean up the throw-up and straighten our place up, our home is just as homely as it was when we left. I think I know how Dorothy felt now.

Thank you to all who came to celebrate the moment. When I come down from wedding/honeymoon heaven I promise to have a blog of the cool junk and pictures of awesome times.
