Pre-reading warning: Before people think I am seriously disturbed or need a social life, I just want to let you know I am trying something as a test and I generally do not condone the use of pills or buy in to the hype of "miracle fat loss" supplements.
Those who know me are aware I may happen to be a tad bit obsessed with the Doctor Oz Show. This started a few years back when "Oprah" was still on the air. It was like a ritual. I come home from school, grab a pack of peanut butter crackers, crack open a text book, study, and click on ABC network.
Every weekday like clockwork this lady came on over the tube and would drag me in to her spell. (She is something from the Gods, promise) Anywho, so I would sit and watch and one day she introduces this Dr. Oz fellow. My mother just so happened to love him, daddy too. We would sit mesmerized listening to all of these health-nut craze's and what our bodies need more of. Exercise always being a key ingredient to weight loss.
It comes as no surprise that I happened to follow over to his show when Oprah stopped her shows. I really am intrigued to the point where I sit and take notes while the man rambles away about "secrets to a healthier you" and "the mystery food that you wish you knew about sooner." (It seriously can't be these catchy titles that keep me wanting more!)
When Josh and I moved in to our new apartment, we couldn't afford the luxury of cable t.v anymore because I bought my new car. I am all fine and dandy with that, as long as I still had my show. As I was sitting and watching a few months back doing the usual note-taking, he happened to mention something about fruits that helped you lose weight. I stopped in my tracks and looked up at the screen when he mentioned a pill that can help.
Now from all of the time that I have watched I can't recall him "endorsing" the use of weight-loss pills. So this is why I was hooked. They are called raspberry ketone. From my understood knowledge and minimal research on this I have gathered that you would need to eat a ton of raspberries to amount to what these pills can do.
Without little thought I jotted down the name of this and kept it in my purse. I didn't exactly think about it again until around the time of really wanting to lose a significant amount of weight. So when I was rummaging through my junk one day I noticed the paper and almost tossed it to the curb but something inside of me said no. I just had to let my curiosity get the better of me and see what this "miracle" was all about.
Fast Forward: After buying the pills and taking them in the recommended dosage for about 2 months now(because that is totally the appropriate amount of time to disprove variables) I have come to a conclusion.
This pill is working! Again, I have to say, I generally am not for the use of such weight-loss pills because the general ingredient is caffeine which DUH! gives you energy, and they all require you to drink so much water that I don't have that much time to be peeing every thirty minutes(not to mention water is a big factor of aiding in losing weight). I like the idea of "natural" weight-loss.
In all honesty, I have only noticed the slightest idea that this raspberry ketone may be working due to the fact that I have not been on a regular exercise plan lately. When I started out (with exercising) I was all gung-ho and doing it every day. As wedding day approaches though, I seem to be getting more and more busy with my daily schedule. I have been taking the pills 3 times per day as recommended and drinking so much water that I am peeing when I don't want to be running to the bathroom. (I have seen a new side of public bathrooms)
Conclusion: As long as these things are "natural" pills, then I am going to continue to take them. I even went as far as to recommend them to my mother and co-workers. They are a hot commodity right now due to Dr. Oz discussing them on his show and they seem to be flying off of the shelves faster than I can even buy them now. I know the Navy has something on their website about not condoning the use of rapid fat loss but these don't seem to be making me lose the weight rapidly. Due to the amount of water I am drinking, my stomach is full on that so my meals are smaller portions, I try to eat up to my 1500 calories per day, and I don't eat after 7pm. I can see if I added in a variable such as exercise, as how I would lose the pounds faster, but for as busy as I am now, I like only exercising 2 times every week.
So maybe these are a helpful aid and scientists could be on to something ingenious with raspberry ketones. I am still skeptical as whether or not to call them a miracle.
Also, please for the love of common sense, consult your physician before starting any diet and exercise regimen. Don't read this and take [it] because I mentioned them.
