Home is where you hang your heart

Feast your eyes upon this gorgeous house

Our family will begin here. Wow! That just came out of my mouth. We are starting a family here. There is going to be a room specifically for our little nugget. I can't believe it. There are still a bunch of boxes that need to be unpacked. Boxes filled with stuff that needs to be hidden but we have no closets or secret cubbyholes.

I have the greatest feeling that pinterest is going to be helping me out these next few months. We are use to apartment living, noisy neighbors upstairs and that sort of nonsense. Sleeping here for the first time was scary (not like noises go bump in the night scary). Think, old house scary. We have never had our very own dining room or front porch. There are things to plant and clean and make our own. But the best thing about it is that this place is going to be ours. A whole house for us and nugget. Sure, it's a small house, but it is a start. And who knows where we may end up after a year here. We may be moving in to a permanent home where nugget can have a yard!

For now, here is everything you may have missed.

  • Our cat loves the new house. She especially loves to run/leap off of furniture and slide across the wood floors.
  • Uhaul cancelled our order for our truck so we ran around town for two hours searching for a backup truck. (We found one just in time)
  • Our fridge broke on Thursday when we were cleaning the house. We still didn't have the new one by Friday, but our amazing landlord  had her husband drive it over before all of our food spoiled.
  • We have FANS! (The ceiling kind)
  • We have a dining room
  • Oh so many windows!
  • I broke my sconces by throwing nearly every box around even though it said fragile. I may or may not have had a rush of hormones on moving day.
  • The pregnant lady had to turn on her own water with the special T-bar.
Story time: So we scheduled for the water guy to come out Friday to turn on our water. When he finally showed up, he left the water off instead of keeping it on because he didn't want our sprinklers to run. (WHAT?!) All I wanted was a glass of water and to be able to wash my hands from cleaning everything. So I unplugged our irrigation system and got my hands on a T-Bar to turn on my own water. I am pretty sure that is illegal, but I wasn't about to pay another dollar to the city for them to come out and turn a metal button with a special bar.
  • Nugget has reached the last month of the first trimester.
  • I had my first officially official craving for wendy's fries and a chocolate shake. I might have killed someone if I didn't get it. The situation was scary.
  • First mother's day card thanks to mom and padre Nystrom!! They are the best.
  • We had to order a mailbox key (please tell me someone has heard of this nonsense)
Memories are already being made in our house and I can't wait to make a lot more. Stay tuned for the ultrasound pic of Nugget in about four more weeks. Hopefully we will know boy or girl!

Share a funny moving story with me in the comments.
XOXO-Mrs.

  1. We also moved in this weekend! Posting a blog sometime this week after I at least get out bedroom together. We have one nightstand still in NC and another hidden in storage at my mothers so no drawers at all yet. In a hormonal rage today, I threw every piece of clothing out of numerous laundry baskets, boxes, and what nots into a his & her pile on the floor today looking for a specific and one of 3 dresses that fit me to wear to my sisters graduation. Needless to say it was the very last article of clothing I found.

    1. Strangely enough I have been in that same rage trying to find anything that will fit me. I started rubber banding my pants but I have found that dresses fit better. I guess shopping is in our near future!!
