Hello again!
We have lost contact for a while due to busy work schedules and the normal life annoyances. I think now is the time to let everyone know (if you don't have a calendar) that Thanksgiving is approaching which means the holidays are among us. The early start of Florida Fall has put me well in to the spirit of the holidays this year.
Not only did I score having Thanksgiving off, but I also have Black Friday off! Do you know what the means? Well, for starters, that means I am ridiculously happy because Thanksgiving happens to be my favorite food holiday and then I get to count down to Christmas which happens to be my favorite gift giving holiday. Secondly, that means that I get to actually SHOP on Black Friday. SCORE!
There is so much to be thankful for this year. I am not able to post everyday on Facebook as everyone else seems to be doing but mostly, I am thankful for the re-connections that have happened to us recently and of course for family and my husband.
A couple of days ago I did post on Facebook about the appropriate time to start buying Christmas gifts and putting up the tree. The consensus seems to be the same. It is never too early to start shopping for that perfect gift and we have put much thought in to our gifts this year. Especially for our parents. And while I know it is not about the gifts but rather Jesus and all of that goodness, I can't help but to think about giving presents and decorating. I am not sure of the wording that is supposed to fit here so I am just going to go ahead and say we are spoiled by our parents and love to be around them. We are so thankful for them to be in our lives and especially for everything they have done for us concerning our wedding. We're like those people who are very family oriented.
I feel like this is just one small way of repaying our folks in the only way we know how. Words can not describe how thankful we are, so maybe some awesome gifts will.
This truly is the best time of the year. Everyone gets to dress up, eat, spend quality time with loved ones and be merry! And while I was getting down in the dumps last year because I was 2000 miles away from home, I have decided that this year will be one of the best because I have new things to be thankful for and new family members to love.
On a scale of 1-1000 how thrilled are you for the holidays this year?
