Gender bets, love taps and baby brain

   If you have been following us on this awesome journey of Nugget baking, then you should know by now I have just entered my thirteenth week of baking and the fun has just started to happen. One of my good friends gave me a brilliant idea by updating her blog with all pregnancy related things, to start something of the sorts on here. I don't want to steal her idea too much but I thought it would be pretty cool to try my hand at this myself. If you are at all curious as to how I am actually doing then fasten your seat belt and welcome to week number 13!

   Just minutes after we posted on Facebook, Instagram and Blog of our growing Nugget I knew I needed to keep a diary of my own. I don't know if I will just hand it to Nugget one day or if I will read it to our child as s/he is growing up to be a model citizen. I do know that it will be something special for Nugget to have while growing up so s/he will know how mom and dad felt for nine months and counting. I have been filling in the journal on a weekly basis and some of the content is just awesome to look back on and relive even though it has only been a few short weeks since creation. Here are some of its contents.

Week: 13
Baby is roughly the size of a peach (according to Whattoexpect.com)

Initial feeling during discovery of pregnancy:
I was in shock, elated and hopeful. Josh was overjoyed and kissed my belly over and over until I couldn't stop laughing.

Morning sickness: I wish I had some awesome story about driving past Taco Bell and smelling the food only to upchuck moments later. Or, another really cool but less than thrilling story about eating Salt and Vinegar chips only to see them for a second time in a toilet bowl. All I can say is I am very thankful that there has been no sickness thus far. Not even the teeniest bout of upset tummy from a simple smell.

Craving: Anything that is edible. I haven't had a moment where I wasn't hungry. I want ALL of the comfort foods. Mashed potatoes sound killer right about now. If I could somehow finish it off with a dark chocolate brownie and some pecan praline ice-cream, I might be in heaven.

Super Craving (must have) Moment:
Chili Cheese Dog. I tried to hold back for three very long and excruciating days but finally gave in.
Sprinkle donut
Cottage Cheese

Showing:
Only the slightest bit. I am on the plus size so I doubt I will start showing until around 16-18 weeks. Because of this, I haven't really had to slip in to maternity clothes but my one of my favorite pair of shorts don't fit comfortably anymore so I need to invest in a Bella Band.

Gender Bets:
So we actually did the ring test and the chinese gender test. Both of those results came out with

My Aunt Dee is predicting girl as well as my mother-in-law. My parents and Josh are predicting boy...
What do I want? Healthy. I have no "feeling" as to what the gender may be so I am going to be elated either way!

Precious Moments:
"I know you are hungry kid, but you are just going to have to wait your turn"-Shelby
"Calm your baby butt self I'll eat the banana"-Shelby
"Hey kid, want to go to the store? Well guess what, you have no choice. Ha!"-josh
"We don't feel like having shrimp tonight, how about pasta?"  -Shelby and baby
"Good morning! Oh, I was talking to Nugget"- Josh
"Hey sweet Nugget, I know you probably can't hear me yet, but I need you to know that I love you more than anything. Oomas!"-Josh
"I've got a Nugget, I've got a Nugget. There aren't two hey hey hey hey!"(sung in the "I've got a pickle" tune from little rascals) -Shelby

Other Happenings:

• Nugget officially gave me a little love tap or "quickened" 5/17/13. It was magical and made me drop my fruit at work.
• Mom bought me this 
• Mom also bought Josh this
• I like to annoy Nugget to get him/her to move by sitting down and slouching. Lots of fussing happens and it tickles which is super weird.
• I have had the most baby brain lately. Everything baby is cute and sickening and I really can't wait to find out the gender so we can start preparing Nuggets room.
• Josh was peed on by our "stray" cat
• Our house was rearranged by my aunt (we no longer have a dining room)
• The beach has been on my mind lately
• My great friend/sister got married
• I walked home from work because I can do that now.
• Coffee

 I hope our child will be as excited for the journal one day as I am now. It will be helpful for those times when Nugget asks about being in my tummy. I can just pull out the book and tell him/her. The journal will also be helpful when it comes time to fill out the baby book!
